Hot Melt Adhesive Tank Cleaner

GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner has been formulated specifically to enable the hot melt user to maintain his adhesive application equipment in optimum working condition with the minimum disruption to their manufacturing process.
GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner is suitable for use on all tank fabrication and hose material.

Method of Use
Drain the hot melt adhesive from the tank. On tank fed hose systems remove and clean filter and replace. It may be necessary to fit a new one. Remove nozzles from the hot melt applicators.

Set the tank temperature to 80°C - 90°C and add sufficient GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner to cover the heating elements and the areas of the tank that are charred. Allow GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner to melt and stand in the molten state for 1 - 2 hours, scraping the sides of the tank with a wire brush or similar implement to help dissolve the charred matter.

Drain off GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner into a suitable container. Examine the tank and if there is still charred material remaining repeat the process at 120°C - 130°C. After this second treatment the tank should be clean. However, badly charred tanks may need a third application.

If the tank is a wheel in pot system add some of your hot melt adhesive to the tank and return to the original hot melt application temperature. Flush the remaining GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner from the tank.

For tank fed hose applicators, after the tank is clean, remove and clean the filter if necessary. Add additional GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner to just over the heating elements and flush through the hoses keeping air pressure as low as possible - half a bar is usually sufficient.

Once the GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner coming through the applicator is clear, drain off any remaining GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner from the tank and flush through with you normal hot melt adhesive to ensure no GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner remains in the system.

Regular treatment with GluesDirect Hot Melt Tank Cleaner is recommended.
